Johannes du Toit is an experienced professional in business disciplines throughout the value chain including operations management, technical development, customer support, business development, marketing and logistics management, strategy development, business management as well as the management of multi-billion-rand projects.
He joined Erudite Strategies in February 2017. Prior to this, he held the position of CEO of ASA Metals and Dilokong Chrome Mine, an integrated chrome mine and ferrochrome smelter that is a joint venture between Eastern Asia Metals Investment Co. Ltd (Chinese based) and the Limpopo Economic Development Enterprise of South Africa, with an annual turnover in excess of ZAR 4 billion, for three years. Johannes played an integral part in increasing the turnover of the company from approximately R80 million per annum to more than R4 billion per annum. Former roles have included those of general manager smelter production, general manager for business development, and expansion general manager, all at ASA Metals. He also held positions of marketing and logistics manager as well as business development manager at Sasol, among others.

A technology savvy innovator with natural leadership abilities, Johannes has overseen ground floor implementation of various projects and business concepts and is known as a creative problem solver. He is prominent in the industry for taking underachieving or new units, and quickly turning them around while consistently meeting and exceeding revenue and profitability performance goals.
Johannes holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the Potchefstroom University for CHE, a Bachelor in Chemical Engineering obtained from the University of Pretoria and a qualification in Commercial Law from the University of South Africa (Unisa). He is an advocate and firm believer of continuous education.
